The Horse Shoe. 

This ancient emblem is used to ward off the evil. When kept as a talisman, a horseshoe is said to bring good luck. Many believe that to hang it with the ends pointing up (is to keep all the good luck in). It acts as a storage container of sorts for any good luck that happens to be floating by.  So if these are pointing downwards, then the good luck will drain away. The Chinese character, Fu

"Fu", (Chinese: 福) means fortune symbolises auspiciousness, blessing or happiness.  The tradition of pasting the character "Fu" on walls, doors and doorposts has existed among the people for a long time.
